Traffic line marking in the Midlands is the one facilities job that can genuinely pay for itself in a single afternoon. Most car parks laid out decades ago were marked to whatever suited the person holding the string that day. Bays end up oversized, aisles wider than they need to be, and awkward corners left as dead ground because nobody worked out the geometry. Remark that same footprint properly — standard 2.4m by 4.8m bays, an aisle width matched to the turning circle, corners angled rather than abandoned — and it’s common to recover five to ten percent more spaces from concrete you’re already paying for, rates and all.
The other half of the job is durability, and that’s where cheap quotes come apart. Paint applied to a dirty deck in November will look excellent until March. Ron surveys the surface, checks what’s already down and specifies a material that survives your traffic and your climate rather than the one that finishes fastest. Car parks, yards and depots across Westmeath, Offaly and Dublin have been reset by our crew without closing for a day, which is why clients keep coming back — as our customer testimonials show.

Preparation and setting out take longer than the marking. That’s normal and it’s where quality comes from.
Ron measures the site, counts existing spaces and looks at how vehicles actually circulate. He’ll identify wasted ground, awkward corners and conflicts between vehicle and pedestrian movement.
Where the objective is more spaces, we draw up an alternative layout and give you the revised count before you commit.
You get a written, itemised quote covering cleaning, removal, setting out, marking and symbols separately.
Paint will not bond to a dirty deck. Traffic film, algae, oil and rubber all have to go first.
Pressure washing removes surface contamination, and oil-stained bays are degreased separately. The surface then needs to dry fully before anything is applied.
Old lines that conflict with the new layout are removed rather than overpainted. Two contradictory sets of markings confuse drivers and look unmanaged.
Removal uses dust free shot blasting or selective diamond grinding, with heavier thermoplastic taken off through our floor coating removal service.
Lines are set out from fixed datums — kerbs, columns, building lines — using strings, measuring wheels and laser levels.
Bay ends are squared and spacing checked across the full run before anything is painted. On a large car park, cumulative error over fifty bays is very visible if setting out is casual.
Where the layout is changing significantly, we chalk it first so you can walk it.
This determines whether we mark at all that day. Paint applied to damp tarmac or below the minimum temperature won’t bond properly.
We plan around the forecast rather than the diary, and we’d rather move a day than hand over markings that will lift within a season.
Lines are applied by machine for long runs and by hand for detail work. Widths typically run 75mm or 100mm for bays, with wider bands for hatching and boundaries.
Thermoplastic is applied hot by screed or spray and bonds as it cools. Reflective beads are broadcast into the wet material where specified.
Preformed symbols are positioned, then heat-bonded to fuse them into the surface.
Road paints are typically touch-dry within 20–40 minutes and take traffic in 1–2 hours. Thermoplastic is trafficable within 30 minutes once cooled. Two-pack epoxy needs longer, usually 12–24 hours.
That speed means we mark in sections and reopen behind ourselves, so the car park keeps operating. You get a marked-up layout drawing for your records. See our before and after gallery for completed sites.
Efficient geometry regularly recovers a meaningful percentage of additional bays. On a paid or leased car park, that’s direct revenue from work already done.
Clear bay boundaries and adequate aisle widths cut door dings, wing scrapes and the complaints that follow them.
Marked crossings and walkways separate people from moving vehicles in the area where most car park incidents actually happen.
Disabled bay provision, dimensions and access routes are checked and documented. So are fire access routes, which get blocked easily without hatching.
Faded, mismatched markings signal neglect before anyone reaches your door. Crisp lines do the opposite for very little money.
One-way circulation, arrows and give-way markings reduce congestion and the standoffs that develop in tight sites.
Marking is a natural moment to check surface condition. Damage caught now is far cheaper than damage found later, and pairs naturally with car park sealing.
High turnover, heavy pedestrian crossover and a real commercial case for maximising space count. Marked overnight or in sections to keep trading.
Internal decks where epoxy outperforms road paint considerably. Usually delivered alongside car park flooring.
Allocated bays, visitor spaces and EV provision. Layout changes often follow tenancy changes.
Complex requirements around accessibility, ambulance routes and fire access. Phased working keeps everything open.
Trailer bays, turning circles and heavy vehicle routes. These need thermoplastic or MMA, since paint won’t survive the scrub.
Dock approaches, marshalling areas and separated pedestrian routes, tying into internal safety line marking and industrial flooring.
Drop-off zones, bus bays and pedestrian crossings, marked during holidays or out of hours.
We deliver traffic line marking in the Midlands across Athlone, Mullingar, Tullamore, Portlaoise, Longford Town, Birr and Roscommon Town, with full Dublin and nationwide coverage from our Dublin 3 base.
Marking usually follows other deck work. Sound surfaces are protected through car park sealing or concrete sealing, while deteriorating decks need full waterproofing through car park flooring. Internal walkways and hazard zones are handled by safety line marking, and sports surfaces by sports courts line marking. Damaged areas along traffic routes should be repaired first through concrete floor repairs, with perished joints reinstated via mastic floor joint repairs. Preparation runs through pressure washing and, where needed, floor grinding.
A faded car park costs you in ways that never appear as a line item. Drivers park badly because the bays are guesswork, so you lose spaces to sprawl. Door damage generates complaints you have to handle. Disabled provision that no longer meets requirements becomes a genuine liability. And every visitor forms an impression of your operation before they’ve walked through the door — from a surface that looks like nobody has thought about it in a decade.
Traffic line marking in the Midlands, delivered by Ron and the crew, starts with the layout rather than the paint. The survey is free. The quote is written and itemised. We mark in sections and reopen behind ourselves, so your site never closes.
